The European Market Coupling Steering Committee (MCSC) has announced that the transition to 15-minute time resolution in the day-ahead market is postponed. The new go-live date is September 30, 2025 (delivery date October 1, 2025).
MCSC is a joint steering group consisting of European TSOs and NEMOs (Nominated Electricity Market Operators), responsible for the European day-ahead and intraday market coupling.
The postponement from the previously planned commissioning on June 11, 2025, is due to some project parties not being technically ready for the transition to 15-minute time resolution in the day-ahead market. MCSC has assessed that a gradual transition is not possible. European TSOs, including Energinet, are technically ready for the transition to 15-minute time resolution in the day-ahead market.
