Go-live of 15-min MTU ID postponed with a target for March

The Nordic steering group for 15 MTU & IDA has decided that the 15-minute MTU in the Intraday market will not be implemented in January as originally planned. Instead, March is being targeted as the new go-live date.

The exact dates for when the capacity on the Nordic borders will transition to 15-minute time units in both the Day Ahead and Intraday markets are expected to be announced in connection with the Market Coupling Consultative Group (MCCG) meeting on November 8, 2024.

The postponement allows for better coordination with other stakeholders in the European Single Intraday Coupling (SIDC). The delay is also intended to ensure sufficient preparation and to enable thorough testing of both local and regional systems, as well as cross-border capacities, both internally and externally.

Note: The decision to postpone the go-live applies to all Nordic internal and external borders, except for Estlink, which will transition to a 15-minute time unit in the Intraday market in January 2025.
