Webinar presenting the updated implementation guide for the Nordic aFRR CM

February 5, 10:00 - 11:30 CET, the four Nordic TSOs will co-host a webinar where we will present the updated implementation guide for the Nordic aFRR capacity market (CM). In addition, we will demonstrate the IT solution. The updated implementation guide and example files can be found here, and all stakeholders are recommended to read through the guide prior to the webinar.

The major changes in the updated implementation guide are summarised below:  

  • General review and updates  
  • Message type changes  
  • New version of Balancing Document  
  • New pricing model  

We are also looking for BSPs to participate in integration testing  with the Nordic solution. The testing will be performed in April 2021. Please  contact your TSO if you want to participate. 

Based on the ACER decision of August 2020 the Nordic regulators advise the TSOs to ensure adequate quality in the future flow-based capacity calculation method during an "external parallel run" before going live with the Nordic common aFRR  capacity market. Awaiting a Nordic go-live, the Nordic TSOs have agreed to utilise the Nordic platform for national aFRR capacity markets. It is expected that the first national market will go live in September 2021.
