Updated project timeline for automated mFRR energy activation market
The TSOs have thoroughly reassessed the timeline for the project based on current knowledge. As a result, the project timeline has been extended from Q2 to Q4 2022. An operational phase called "automated operation pre 15-minute ISP" will run from Q4 2022 to Q2 2023 before we go live with the 15-minute imbalance settlement period. In the previous version of the road map, this phase was called "parallel operation", but after reassessing the project, it is clear that there are no realistic fallback options to return to existing balancing processes at this stage.
Based on this revised timeline, the project has developed a first version of an IT implementation guide for mRR EAM participants. The guide describes the implementation of the Nordic mFRR energy activation market and provides information about the processes required to support this market. Both functional and technical aspects are covered. The intended users of this document are the participating BSPs. The Nordic TSOs will continue to work on and update the implementation guide and invite market participants to give their comments and input. Contact information for each TSO, where comments and questions can be sent, is provided in the implementation guide. The memo providing an outlook for product development and explaining how the mFRR energy activation market is an integrated part of system operation has also been updated accordingly.
Market participants are invited to a Nordic webinar on 14 January where the implementation guide will be presented, and it will be possible to ask questions and provide comments. The detailed implementation plans will be further elaborated and follow-up carried out by each TSO.
