Svenska kraftnät will go-live with national aFRR Capacity market in May 2022. According to the plan, the first daily procurement will be carried out on 10 May, valid for delivery day 11 May.
The new aFRR capacity market will introduce a new market design, including daily auctions and marginal pricing. It is an important milestone in the future Nordic balancing model. The common Nordic platform has been used by the Norwegian market since November 2021, and by the Finnish market since January 2022. The onboarding of Energinet is planned to be done at the same time point as the start of a common Nordic aFRR capacity market. The current plan for this is earliest Q4 2022.
In the beginning of March, Svenska kraftnät will confirm the go-live date for the Swedish market and at the same time publish the required national terms and conditions.
